I am trying to trace the family of a US Serviceman called Earl Hopkins who
was stationed in Ipswich (20 miles from Brisbane) which is nearby the
Amberley Air Force Base, Queensland, Australia during World War 2.

He was in the Army or Army Air Corps and was part of the USA's
war effort against the Japanese in the Pacific. Because he was stationed so close to a major air force base I assume he was in the Army Air Corps because he wore "khaki". He was definitely in Ipswich in late 1945.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
