My father-in-law, Vince Baraloto passed away in February, 2003. At the weekly family dinners, we often heard stories of his time in the US Cavalry and of his time in New Guinea. Somehow he managed only to tell the amusing stories from that time yet I know he had some serious bouts of malaria. Not til senility loosened his tongue in the last year or two before he died, did we hear of how haunted he was by the job of cleaning up the dead bodies of comrades and friends. I've sent photos of Vince and friends to this site and would love to hear from anyone who knew Vince. I know friends of his used to come with him on R&R to his girlfriend/wife's house in Macknade/Ingham, NQD, Australia for some home-cooked meals. I am putting together a family scrapbook of stories & photos for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a lovely man and a wonderful family man and the best of fathers-in-law. If anyone has photos or stories of Vince to share, I'd be most appreciative... Truly ... Pat Baraloto
